About PrepTest Hub

Who we are and how every practice test is made.

PrepTest Hub is a free practice-test platform for competitive exams, currently IELTS (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, both Academic and General Training) and CAT (VARC, DILR and Quant), with more exams planned. Every test is timed, instantly scored, and comes with a full explanation behind every answer. There's no account required to take a test and no paywall on the practice material.

Who builds it

Made by BITS Pilani and IIM alumni. The people writing and checking the questions have been through these exams themselves, which shapes how the tests are built: timed like the real paper, marked the way the real exam marks, and explained step by step.

Editorial standards

Questions and study guides are written by the PrepTest Hub team and checked by BITS Pilani and IIM alumni before and after publishing. Every answer key carries a worked explanation so that you can verify it yourself, and we correct mistakes openly. Spotted an error? Tell us through the FAQ page and we will fix it and update the page date.

Why this site exists

Most free exam practice online is either a handful of sample questions used to funnel visitors toward a paid course, or PDFs with no scoring or explanations at all. We built PrepTest Hub to be neither, a place where you can sit a full, timed, realistically-scored mock test at no cost, and actually understand why an answer is right or wrong immediately afterward, not just whether you got it right.

How the tests are built and scored

Every practice test on this site follows the real format and timing of the exam it's built for. For IELTS, Listening and Reading are scored using the same style of raw-score-to-band conversion the real exam uses, rather than a flat percentage, see our guide to how band scores actually work for why that distinction matters. IELTS Writing and Speaking tasks are free-response and include band-level guidance on what a strong answer covers, since those sections aren't something a script can auto-grade honestly. CAT's VARC, DILR and Quant sections are objectively scored against a single correct answer, matching the real exam's format.

Test content is written specifically for this site rather than copied from official Cambridge, IIM, or other prep-site material. The team behind PrepTest Hub is actively adding new tests, new exams, and study guides, if you spot an error in a passage, question, or answer key, we want to know about it and fix it.

What PrepTest Hub is not

This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or administered by IELTS, the British Council, IDP, Cambridge Assessment English, the IIMs, or any official CAT administering body. It's an independent study resource. Practice scores here are a useful indicator of your level, not an official result — your real certificate only comes from sitting the actual exam through the authorized administrator.
