Choose a country

Each page lists the schools, fees, programme lengths and the work and visa points to check.

What you need to apply

A strong test score

Most schools accept the GMAT or the GRE. Some also take other exams, so read the admissions page of each school.

Work experience

Full time MBA classes are built around people with work experience. Chevening, one of the main UK scholarships, asks for at least two years.

An English test

Applicants whose degree was not taught in English usually need IELTS or a similar test. Schools set their own minimum scores.

Essays and references

You write essays about your goals, and recommenders who know your work write a reference for you.

A clear career reason

Interviewers ask why this school, why now and what you will do afterwards. Have a specific answer.

A funding plan

Fees are only part of the cost, so plan for living costs, travel, insurance and the visa as well.

Published fees by school

Figures come from each school's own pages and are shown in the school's currency. Programmes differ in length, so read the basis column before comparing. Confirm every figure on the school site before you decide.

MBA abroad guides

Frequently asked questions

How much does an MBA abroad cost?

The published fees on this page run from about £77,950 for a one year UK MBA to more than $90,000 for each of two years at US schools. Living costs come on top, and the schools publish their own budgets. Fees were checked in October 2026 and change every year.

Which is better, the GMAT or the GRE?

Most top schools accept both, so choose the test where you score better in practice. Check each school for its current policy.

Do I need IELTS for an MBA abroad?

Many schools ask for an English test from applicants whose degree was not taught in English. Some waive it. Check the school page for the accepted tests and minimum scores.

Can I get a scholarship for an MBA abroad?

Yes. Chevening funds one year master level study in the UK for applicants with two years of work experience, the Inlaks Scholarship is open to Indian passport holders, and many schools run their own awards.

Should I do an MBA abroad or at an IIM?

It depends on where you want to work, how much you can fund and how your CAT percentile looks. Our guide compares the two in detail.

Fees and rules change often. PrepTest Hub is not affiliated with any school named here, and the figures are for planning, not an offer. Always confirm on the school and government websites.
