How we make what you see on the site, so you can judge how far to trust it.
PrepTest Hub is a free practice platform for CAT and IELTS. This page explains how we make what you see on the site, so you can judge how far to trust it.
Original content only
Practice questions, passages, data sets and explanations are written for this site. We do not copy questions from official papers, coaching institutes or other websites. Where a guide describes an official exam pattern, we summarise it in our own words and tell you to confirm details on the official website, because patterns and dates change.
How a practice test is made
- A writer drafts the questions for a defined skill, such as percentages or para jumbles.
- Every numerical answer is recalculated independently, and logic puzzles are solved by listing every valid arrangement, so each question has one correct answer.
- Each question gets a written explanation that shows the method, not only the answer.
- BITS Pilani and IIM alumni on the team review the questions and the answer keys. Reviewers can send a question back for correction.
How a study guide is made
Guides are written from the point of view of someone who has taken the exam, and they are checked against the official exam notices where facts are involved, such as the section structure, timing and marking scheme. Comparisons with other exams are checked against each exam's own published information.
What we do not do
- We do not promise scores, ranks or percentiles. Our percentile estimate on mock results is a rough guide only.
- We do not claim to be affiliated with the IIMs, the British Council, IDP or any exam body.
- We do not publish content whose only purpose is to attract search traffic. Every page should help a candidate prepare.
Corrections
If you find a wrong answer, an unclear explanation or an outdated fact, tell us through the contact page. We correct confirmed errors quickly and update the page. Pages show their last updated date, and substantial changes are listed on the what's new page.
Keeping content current
We add new tests, topic practice pages and guides regularly, and we review exam related pages whenever the official pattern or dates change. The what's new page is a dated log of what we have added.
Advertising
The site is free to use and may carry advertising next to written guides. Advertising never decides what we write, and we do not accept payment to rank or recommend a product. Practice tests and results pages are kept free of ads so they stay easy to use.
