Free CAT mock tests: full length CAT mock exams in the official format

A CAT full-length mock is a complete practice paper: three sections of 40 minutes each, 68 questions, 120 minutes in total, with a separate timer for every section and the same +3 and -1 marking as the real exam. Take one under exam conditions, then use the solutions to find where your marks are leaking.

How to take a CAT mock test

  1. Set aside two uninterrupted hours. A CAT mock is a 120-minute paper (3 sections of 40 minutes). Choose a quiet slot at the same time of day as your CAT slot, and keep a pen and rough paper ready.
  2. Read the instructions and start the first section. Open the mock and read the instruction screen. The VARC timer starts when you press Start.
  3. Manage each section on its own clock. You can move between questions inside a section, but when the 40 minutes end you move on automatically and cannot return.
  4. Use the question palette. The palette shows which questions you have answered, so you can skip hard ones and return to them before the section ends.
  5. Review every question afterwards. The results page shows your CAT-style score (+3 for correct, -1 for a wrong multiple-choice answer), a section-wise breakdown and a full explanation for every question.

Frequently asked questions

Are the CAT full-length mocks free?

Yes. The full-length CAT mock tests on PrepTest Hub are free, with no registration. Each mock has three timed sections and detailed solutions.

Can I take a free CAT mock test without registration?

Yes. You can start any CAT mock test on PrepTest Hub without creating an account or paying. Open a mock, press Start on the instruction screen and your score and solutions appear when you finish.

Is this a CAT mock paper or a CAT test series?

Each full length mock here is a complete CAT mock paper of 68 questions in 120 minutes. Together with our sectional VARC, DILR and Quant tests they form a free CAT test series, see the CAT test series page for a week by week order.

How many sections and questions are there in a CAT mock?

Each mock follows the recent CAT paper structure: three sections of 40 minutes each, VARC with 24 questions, DILR with 22 and Quantitative Ability with 22, for 68 questions in 120 minutes. Always check the official CAT website for the current pattern.

Can I go back to a section after its time is over?

No. As in the official exam, each section has its own timer, sections are taken in the order VARC, DILR, QA, and you cannot return to a section once it ends.

What is the marking scheme in the mock?

Each correct answer earns 3 marks. A wrong multiple-choice answer costs 1 mark. Type-in-the-answer (TITA) questions have no negative marking, and unattempted questions score zero.

How many mocks should I take before CAT?

Most aspirants take a full-length mock once a week in the early months and two to three a week in the last 60 days, spending at least as long analysing each mock as taking it. Our CAT preparation guide has a step-by-step plan.

Will the mock predict my CAT percentile?

No. A score on any single mock is only a rough guide to your level, because percentile depends on the performance of all candidates in your slot. Use mocks to find weak areas and improve pacing, not to predict a rank.
