Key takeaways
- Spend the month on consolidation, not new topics: fix repeat mistakes and sharpen speed.
- Take one full mock a week in weeks 1 to 3, then stop full mocks in the final week.
- Rotate sections daily so all three stay warm, and keep one hour for error review.
- Test yourself on formulas every day, and protect sleep from week 3.
With CAT on 29 November, the final month is about turning what you know into marks on the day. This plan assumes you have already covered the syllabus once. If you have not, cover the most frequent topics in each section first and use our Quant study order. Adjust the plan to your own weak areas, because it is a template and not a promise.
The shape of the month
- Week 1: find your gaps. One full mock plus deep review.
- Week 2: fix the gaps. Targeted practice on your three weakest topics.
- Week 3: build exam stamina. A full mock plus timed sectionals.
- Week 4: taper. Revision, flashcards and rest.
Week 1: find your gaps
- Take a full-length mock at your exam slot's time of day. Use the CAT mocks.
- Spend two evenings on analysis with our mock analysis guide. Label every mistake: concept, calculation, misread, or time.
- List your three weakest topics per section.
- On the other days, do one 40 minute sectional for each section.
Week 2: fix the gaps
- Spend most of your time on the weakest topics. Use the practice by topic pages for focused sets.
- Go through the formula sheet every morning for ten minutes.
- Practise para-jumbles and odd one out for fifteen minutes a day. See VARC verbal ability strategy.
- Take one DILR set a day and choose it deliberately. See set selection.
Week 3: build exam stamina
- Take a second full mock early in the week. Review it the next day.
- Do three timed sectionals back to back on one day to simulate the real test sequence.
- Practise your first five minutes of each section: scan, pick, start.
- Begin sleeping on your exam schedule.
Week 4: taper
- No full mocks after the first three days of the week.
- Revise your error log and flashcards. Our last 7 days plan covers this week day by day.
- Check documents, route and kit using the exam day checklist.
Daily rhythm
- Morning: 10 minutes of formulas or flashcards.
- Midday: one timed sectional or set.
- Evening: review of the day's mistakes, 45 to 60 minutes.
Check your progress
Use the CAT percentile predictor after each mock to turn your marks into an estimated percentile. Treat it as a rough guide, and watch the trend, not a single score.
