MBA in Europe: INSEAD, IE, Esade, IESE and Bocconi Fees

Key takeaways

  • INSEAD is €109,860 for the August 2026 intake, IESE €117,000 and IE €89,900.
  • Esade (€82,500) and Bocconi (€86,000) quote 2027 intakes.
  • Check what each figure covers, because some include compulsory expenses.
  • Visa and work rules depend on the country, so read the national immigration site.

European MBAs attract an international class and many are shorter than US programmes. The fees below come from each school's own pages.

Reading the numbers

Esade describes its figure as total compulsory tuition and expenses, so it already includes more than tuition. Bocconi's fee is paid in four instalments. INSEAD also lists estimated living expenses for Fontainebleau and Singapore, including a laptop and travel for exchange and job search. Always read the basis before you compare two schools.

Programme length

INSEAD runs a ten month MBA and IE offers 11 and 15 month tracks. Check the length of the current programme for the other schools, since schools adjust formats.

Tests and English

Schools accept the GMAT or GRE, plus an English test for applicants who did not study in English. Some schools run their own assessments. Read IELTS for an MBA abroad and practise on our free tests.

Visas and work

Rules differ for France, Spain and Italy. Read the official immigration site of the country you choose before you plan to stay and work.

How to shortlist a European school

  1. Decide the length you want. Ten to fifteen months suits a focused career move, and longer programmes leave more room for an internship or exchange.
  2. Choose the city by cost and by where you want to work. Madrid, Barcelona, Milan and Fontainebleau are different places to live and recruit from.
  3. Check the class profile on each school site: nationalities, industries and average work experience. A varied class helps if you want an international network.
  4. Find the language requirement for jobs in that country. Some roles need Spanish, Italian or French even when the MBA is taught in English.
  5. Read the employment report for the industry you want, and note how many graduates stay in the country.

Questions to ask an admissions officer

  • Does the fee include compulsory expenses such as materials, trips or insurance?
  • Is the payment schedule in instalments, and what is refundable if I withdraw?
  • What scholarships are available to Indian applicants, and when must I apply?
  • What help do international students get with the visa and with finding housing?
  • What do graduates who start without the local language do for their job search?

Start your English test early

If you need IELTS, finish it before you write essays. Our Listening and Speaking tests are free, and the 30 day plan shows how to schedule the work.

Fees change every year and each school sets its own. The figures here come from the schools' own pages and were checked in October 2026, so confirm them on the school site before you decide. This guide is for planning and is not an offer from any school.
